Tarun Tahiliani launches new flagship store in Bengaluru

The Woodlands Home, a beautifully and carefully renovated history mansion located in the city’s lush core business district, is where designer Tarun Tahiliani announced the opening of the flagship Bangalore boutique for his namesake brand.

Tarun has worked with Vinita Chaitanya, the unsurpassed doyenne of all things interior design in Bangalore, to learn the craft of straightforward, tasteful restoration of the building.

The new store in Bangalore pays homage to Tarun Tahiliani’s distinctive “India Modern” design aesthetic with its original tiled flooring, stone mosaics, handmade carpets, and “Tree of Life” wall, which displays embroideries that perfectly capture the ateliers’ aesthetic.

Tarun designed a tremendous sensory assault for the Saturday launch that included a massive LED screen streaming a brand “stream-of-consciousness” video. Dancers and models were positioned in front, forming moving installations in the signature TT “India Modern” flow. Additionally, to Ma Faiza’s passionate and touching tunes that she had compèred for Tarun’s 25th-anniversary marketing film, the percussionists and dancers whirled in an animated jugalbandhi of harmony.

The boutique also featured live demonstrations by four master artisans of the techniques used to create various Tarun Tahiliani brand pillars, including chikankari, zardozi on the frame, the fine art of draping, and soldering techniques used in the label’s high-fashion. Each demonstration was both educational and enjoyable to witness.

Men’s and women’s whole Tarun Tahiliani collection includes couture, ready-to-wear, special occasion apparel, accessories, jewelry, and vintage textiles.

Designer Tarun Tahiliani said in a statement about the opening of his new flagship store in Bangalore, “sample the range and breadth of the collections – each in its own dedicated space, to be viewed by itself – drapes, the fashion collections, the menswear room, and of course, the SARIBAR, and accessories room. The focal point of everything is the aangan, or courtyard, surrounded by a painted banyan that features designs from our embroidery studios. This is the brand’s couture/bridal foundation.

“It’s wonderful to be in Bangalore at last, and the tree in the store’s aangan represents the garden city’s vibrant spirit. Home to a wealth of technological advancements, a modern way of life, and a rich textile tradition,” he continued.

You’ll wear something more frequently if you purchase it if it’s lovely, comfy, light, and fun.
