Strange World is a computer-animated scientific research action adventure Hollywood film in 2022 that was developed by Walt Disney Animation Studios and published by Walt Disney Pictures.

Don Hall helms the picture, with co-direction and scriptwriting duties going to Qui Nguyen and Roy Conli serving as producer. It’s the 61st animated feature from the company. In the film, Jake Gyllenhaal, Dennis Quaid, Jaboukie Young-White, Gabrielle Union, and Lucy Liu provide their voices as The Clades, a renowned family of explorers. The latter must put aside their disagreements to complete an expedition to a mysterious planet called Avalonia, home to unusual lifeforms.

Premiere Date of Strange World

Disney is expected to dominate the Thanksgiving weekend again this year, after the success of previous blockbusters such as the Frozen flicks and Pixar’s Coco. The premiere of Strange World in cinemas nationwide will take place on November 23, 2022.

As a result, Strange World won’t be joining Pixar’s Soul or Turning Red in their Disney+ premieres on November 23. Turning Red was originally set for a theatrical run before it was moved to Disney+, so a reversal is not out of the question. Still, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the big screen will host this “weird” new journey.

On September 22, Disney India released the official teaser for the next animated adventure in the country. Three generations of the Clade family are shown in this work, beginning with the patriarch, Searcher Clade, and continuing with his illustrious father and son. Together with a top-notch pilot and a figurehead president played by Lucy Liu, they set out to explore new territory.

When December rolls around, it means one thing: another year brings another Walt Disney Animated Productions picture. While Raya but the Last Dragon received high marks from critics and audiences alike in 2021, it couldn’t compare to the massive popularity of Encanto, which won an Academy Award that year.

The same folks that gave you the underwater splendour of “Moana,” the adorable and cuddly superheroes action of “Big Hero 6,” and many more contemporary Disney favourites are now setting off on their next all-new journey, Strange World. While Disney has a history of keeping details of its potential masterpieces under wraps, that doesn’t mean everything about their forthcoming adventure is a secret. 

It seems like Disney will again stake its claim on the Thanksgiving holiday this year with two massive successes (Frozen and Coco). This coming Wednesday, November 23, 2022, Strange World will be released to theatres as a standalone film.

Disney Plus will not be premiering the Strange World animation film on November 23, 2022. Turning Red was first announced as a theatrical reveal before it was declared a Disney Plus exclusive. Thus, a switch towards the Flow platform is not out of the question. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that this “weird” new animation will still be shown on the big Display.

Don Hall, a veteran of Disney animation whose previous credits include Big Adventure 6, Moana, & Raya: The Last Dragon, will lead Strange World. While Hall isn’t penning Strange World himself as he did Raya, he is reuniting with Raya screenwriter Qui Nguyen for the second time to create an animated film.

Production duties will go to Roy Conli. It will be Conli’s debut animated series project since Big Hero 6 in 2016. However, he has worked with the Walt Disney Company since 1996’s The Hunchback at Notre Dame.
