Those who enjoyed the rebuilt Final Fantasy 7 may be interested in finding that the precursor, Crisis Core, has also been updated for current-gen systems. As part of the festivities for the 25th anniversary of the original Final Fantasy 7 and to give the game a fresh lease of life, Square Enix has opted to rebuild the game, which was first published as a PSP game in 2007 on British shores.

The game’s first release earned positive reviews, and the remake showed similar success. However, if you’re interested in participating, it’s best to learn as much as possible about the game. Find out when Crisis Core Final Fantasy 7 Reunion will be released, where you can get it, whether you can pre-order it, and check out a trailer right now!

Reunited In Crisis Core, Final Fantasy 7’s Buster Sword Is Redesigned From The PSP Version

Square Enix has revealed the precise release date for Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion after the vague “Winter 2022/23” release window. The news was revealed at today’s Nintendo Direct. On December 13, 2022, it was announced that Nintendo Switch would be the launch platform for Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion. This is the first time the game has been made accessible on non-PlayStation platforms and home consoles; it will also arrive on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7’s premastering goes above and beyond what is typically done by Square Enix, with voice acting re-recorded using Final Fantasy 7 Remake cast members, aesthetics altered to match the remake better, and the whole battle system being overhauled. The original Crisis Core was panned for its random, rolling slots-based battle system at its release. In addition to retaining the slot system, the remake will have more action-oriented combat in the vein of Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

Many players will be seeing Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 for the first time. The game’s popularity in 2020 makes it logical that a lot of work has been performed to bring it up to modern standards and include many components from the remake. To make matters more perplexing, Square Enix has previously said that Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion will not include any new plot components. Thus there will be no more substantial links to the universe of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake. With any luck, the game will tide over fans until the release of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth in the winter of 2023.
