There are a few significant improvements and new features in iOS 16.2 beta two and iPadOS 16.2 beta 2, which have just been released. See below for a summary of the new features added with today’s new beta versions, which Apple plans to deploy in the middle of December.

Developer beta testers can now download beta 2. As early as later this week, additional updates should be available for public beta testers. As always, keep in mind that these upgrades are beta versions and may have bugs and performance issues. As beta testing progresses, the additional functionality may be modified or eliminated.

Apple’s brand-new Freefrom collaboration tool, improvements to the Home app, and other features were part of the initial beta release of the 16.2 updates. What has changed in the beta 2 releases today? Let’s start now.

What’s new in this version?

• Firstly, iOS 16.2 introduces a brand-new Custom Accessibility Mode and significant new accessibility features. Although this new interface isn’t yet live, we can enable it and demonstrate the new design because everything is there in the background.

• A new Medications widget with two different size settings has been added to iOS 16.2 beta 2 for your iPhone’s Lock Screen. This joins the newly added Sleep widget in the iOS 16.2 beta.

For Live Activities, there is a new toggle for “More Frequent Updates”:

• Airtel and Jio networks in India now offer 5G for iPhone customers for the first time. This functionality was previously announced by Apple the previous week.

• There are new animations for play/pause and skips forward/backward under the music app.

• Federico Viticci noted on Twitter that the recent application’s dock and strip can now be disabled individually for the iPad’s screen and the external display in iPadOS 16.2 beta 2.

• An issue that previously prohibited you from returning from the camera on your iPhone’s Lock Screen has been fixed by Apple.
